We are seeking a Sr. DCS Engineer for our Baton Rouge, LA facility.

Responsible for leading Experion PKS (EPKS) Distributed Control System (DCS) and engineering projects in the US and Internationally. This engineer will be the mentor for other engineers in the development of logics and configurations. This person will monitor subcontractor performance and will implement corrective actions; also she/he will be the face of Honeywell to the customer. She/He must create proper documentation for the projects and must guarantee that suitable procedures are performed on time for customer tests and approvals.
This engineer will support project managers during the preparation and execution of projects; she/he will lead kick off meetings and monthly reports with the help of the project manager. As a Honeywell engineer, she/he will be conducting systems analysis of existing DCS installations, which the candidate must reverse engineer and provide replacement designs for; then plan and execute replacement system based around customer needs. The project engineer will provide guidance to the technology selection process for replacement equipment and software, documenting and presenting engineering study results to internal and external customers. This engineer will motivate and lead cross-functional teams using interpersonal skills, display intense commitment and sense of urgency to achieve Honeywell's strategic goals, driven to exceed customer expectations.
Additional responsibilities:
Lead small groups across multiple disciplines & teams
Supervise control & data acquisition systems (SCADA), including C200, PlantScape, & Experion PKS
Interfacing with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), including Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC-5 and ControlLogix
Process control networks such as Honeywell and Rockwell, including ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet, Local Control Networks, wireless networks & other computer-related networks
Ability to meet the safety/security certification requirements to work in industrial facilities.
This engineer will estimate man-hours required for work packages, requisition hardware and software needed, perform hardware and software integration, configure system instrument databases and control system custom graphics and reports, write and perform commissioning tests, and help manage the project schedule, resources and budgets.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering.
8 years of experience as a process control system engineer, automation engineer for process control system, in the job offered or in a related occupation
5 years of experience within the last 10 years hands on experience in computer set-up & software configuration of Honeywell Experion and/or competitors DCS systems
2 years of experience in C++ and Visual Basic programming and application development for SCADA and DCS.
1 year experience with PLCs.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with online modifications in chemical plants and refineries
Experience with process control systems and software requirements, definition and documentation, embedded software applications, software lifecycle and system/software integration
Experience with Process control strategies and implementation of new control routines (gas compression, liquids/solids separation & wastewater treatment processes, water recovery & utilities)
Experience with configuration of controls system with cause & effects and P&ID's preferred
Experience with performing loop checks, continuity tests, factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, start-up support, and performance tests for process control systems
Experience with system integrations involving Honeywell equipment with 3rd party vendors is preferred
